our approach

Voices are an extension of our spirit

|

We believe

Our voices are an extension of our spirit and when we lift our voices together, we create not only beautiful music, but we also grow our hearts. As a Christian, faith-based organization, we are called to share love and light with joy in our hearts to all. As Directors, Board Members, and Staff, we affirm this statement of faith in our lives and we are committed to living and working in grace as we seek to build a community of singers who connect with each other and the community around them in peace. We ask that all singers and families in SRYS respect our core beliefs and honor our expectations of safe, respectful, and joyful rehearsals and concerts. SRYS commits wholeheartedly to teaching healthy singing and proper use of the voice that does not cause harm to the voice. It is important that all participants use good listening skills and consistently practice at home in order to gain the information that we are teaching.

Her greatest sense of accomplishment as a collaborative pianist comes from her unique connection with student and professional musicians alike as she sets a confident, sensitive, and grounded framework in her playing. Shaping the sound and the experience of performance for both soloist/ensemble and audience brings new joy with each performance.
